My name doesn’t match – what can I do?

At Tipico, the name registered on your account must exactly match the name on your payment methods. Even minor differences can cause deposits or withdrawals to be blocked.

Why is this important?

This requirement is part of anti-money laundering regulations and is legally mandated. Tipico and payment providers must ensure that payments are only made to accounts belonging to the account holder.

Common scenarios and solutions

🔴 Deposit is automatically refunded (Klarna, Trustly, Sofort)

Cause: The name on your bank account differs from the name on your Tipico account.

Solution: Contact us via Messenger. We can enable a €10 test deposit via bank transfer to register your bank account and verify the account holder’s name.

🔴 Apple Pay or Google Pay – name does not match

Cause: The name in your Apple ID or Google account differs from the name on your Tipico account.

Solution:

Apple: Settings → Your Name → Name, Phone Numbers, Email

Google: Account → Personal Info

Update the name to match, or change the name on your Tipico account (verification required).

🟡 Missing middle name or special character issue

Example: Your Tipico account is registered as Maria Müller, while your card is registered as Maria Anna Muller.

Solution: Contact us via Messenger. We will review the case individually and can often help resolve the issue.

🔴 Withdrawal blocked – bank account name does not match

Solution: Make a deposit via Klarna to re-verify your bank account and register the correct account holder name.

🟡 PayPal account registered under a different name

Solution: Send us a screenshot of your PayPal profile via Messenger (desktop version: Account Settings → Profile). The screenshot must clearly show both your name and your Merchant ID on the same page.
